Are you seeking an opportunity to make a positive impact in your community while experiencing the rewards of volunteerism? If so, Interfaith Food Bank Society of Lethbridge is currently looking to fill 3 Board of Directors positions with 2-year terms, beginning April 2025.

In partnership with the community, Interfaith Food Bank Society of Lethbridge is a leader in alleviating hunger and its root causes. We are a progressive organization and are continually looking for opportunities to develop, support and strengthen a culture of equity, diversity and inclusion beginning at the Board level.

We are currently seeking individuals with experience in the following areas:

  • Human resources
  • Legal
  • Finance and accounting
  • Fundraising
  • Client advocacy

Volunteer Duties

The Board of Directors function in a governance role providing oversight to Interfaith Food Bank, which is a non-profit organization committed to recognizing the human dignity of those in need that provides food and access to services and resources generated from within our community.

Age Requirements

  • Must be 14 years old or above

Other Requirements

  • Age: 18-30 years old
  • To be eligible for nomination to the Board of Directors, membership with Interfaith Food Bank Society is required. Annual memberships can be purchased for $5 online.

Schedule

  • 2-year term (beginning April 2025).
  • Monthly meetings to be arranged.

Interfaith Food Bank provides several Permanent Support Housing locations and School Programs with groceries that they need. We receive weekly grocery lists that we count on our volunteers to pull together from our warehouse supply.

In all, there are about 100 people a month who get healthy meals because of the work of volunteers in this program.
